Companion book to "Body for Life", August 14, 2007

Regardless of whether you've gotten the men's or women's version of "Body for Life", you now need a way to keep track of your progress and boost your morale. This book lets you track your weight lifting achievements, your cardio, track all those caloric indulgences but then gives you a success story as told by real people. It even includes the folks that needed more than 12 weeks to get to healthy and fit. Without the tracking, you can't tell where you were or where you're going. I don't give it 5 stars only because I'm personally annoyed by the "mindset" exercises. Others tell me that it helps. Whatever.

Great "Helping Hand", May 30, 2007
I am so glad I bought this book. It gives me a place to chart my progress with detailed plans for eating and exercising. It also has great daily inspirations and stories. I wouldn't be so successful on my Body for Life Journey without it!

I bought the workout journal to supplement what I learned in the main book. This book is structured just as the workout in the book suggests, and makes it easy to follow the system. I used it every day that I worked out, and even bought one for my daughter who was working out with me.

This book was a great help in getting into the shape I wanted to be in. It has three key elements: planning, diet, and exercise. For each day of the 12 week journal, there is a new before and after picture, along with that pictured person's motivational story. I loved that part. I picked the picture of one person to be my role model, and it literally gave me a picture of where I wanted to be at the end of the program. I did this plan with my boyfriend. That was important, because it would have been hard to stay motivated doing this alone. I have since bought more success journals as gifts to friends who keep talking about getting fit but never do it. Even if a person doesn't use the journal specifically as it was intended, it sure gives a framework for setting goals and getting there.

I got this journal after reading the book and copying all of the pages on photocopy paper at Kinkos that I needed to get through the 12 weeks. This journal is a time saver and easy to keep with you. Love that there is encouragement on every day.

This is a good journal to have if you are following the advice of Bill Phillips. I am hoping to have the success like others have had from this program. |
